If you haven't heard the taiko drums before, this is your chance! Various local groups have come together to give you a sampling of Southern California's drum beat at our outdoor venue on a farm in Irvine!
We will be featuring the following groups:
* Hikari Taiko is from the Southeast Japanese Community Center Norwalk and was founded by Tak Murata. Mary Jane Maeda is the head instructor and the executive director
* Senryu Taiko group is another college group run by the students from UCR. They not only dedicate themselves to the performance aspect but to the entire process. They even build their own drums! Check out their video.
* Daion Taiko group from the Orange County Buddhist Church is one of the oldest and largest taiko groups in the United States comprised of performers as young as 10 years old and as old as 60. Click here to view their performance at Dodger Stadium.
Come out to the farm and enjoy the beat of the taiko. Click here and register now!
