This Week's Tour Schedule: July 16 - 22

MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY

U-Pick Vegetable Tour:  Monday through Friday at 10 am - no reservation needed.

The U-Pick Vegetable tour is a FREE wagon ride around the farm to pick seasonal vegetables.  Pay only for what you pick at Produce Stand prices. Walk into the cornfield and pick your own sweet white corn! (Other vegetables may include carrots, romaine lettuce, and others, subject to crop availability.)

Melon Tours:  Monday through Friday at 11:15 am - no reservation needed. 

The Melon Tour is a guided wagon ride around the farm.  Sample seasonal vegetables along the way. Last stop is under a tent in our melon field, where you will sample summer squash and different types of melons. Each person receives a melon to take home!  Cost is $18 per person (2 and under free)

THURSDAY 7/19 & FRIDAY 7/20

Farm to Table Strawberry Jam Tour: We've got a few new berries out in the field! Join us for a wagon ride out to the Strawberry Fields where you will pick your own strawberries, then take the wagon back to our festival area and learn how to make your own Strawberry Freezer Jam. Each person will bring home a basket of berries and a jar of jam! Pre-Register or Walk-On. Cost is $18 per person (2 and under free) Additional baskets of berries are $5 each.

SATURDAY 7/21 & SUNDAY 7/22

Melon Tours:  9:30, 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, 1:30, 2:30 - no reservation needed.  Cost is $18 per person (2 and under free)

The Melon Tour is a guided wagon ride around the farm.  Sample seasonal vegetables along the way. Last stop is under a tent in our melon field, where you will sample summer squash and different types of melons. Each person receives a melon to take home!  Cost is $18 per person (2 and under free)

Corn Tours:  10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 1:00, 2:00 - no reservation needed. Cost is $18 per person (2 and under free)

The Corn Tour is a guided wagon ride around the farm.  Sample seasonal vegetables along the way.  In the corn field, pick 3 ears of corn right off the stalk.  Then walk over to the Corn Bar to enjoy an ear of roasted corn with your favorite toppings!  Cost is $18 per person (2 and under free)

Saturday, July 21 - 10am - 1pm

Join us for a Farm to Table Family BBQ! This special event takes place on our beautiful hilltop venue overlooking the farm.  Enjoy a delicious buffet BBQ lunch with a variety of BBQ meats, farm salads, sides, dessert, and drinks.  Let the young ones run around on the hillside and enjoy backyard-style games on the lawn  Then, take a wagon ride back down to the festival area where you are welcome to browse our Market Stand, Sunflower Festival, and enjoy the farm.

Kids Composting Station!

July 21 & 22 from 10am - 3pm

We are excited to welcome We Compost to Tanaka Farms to teach the little ones (and grown ups, too!) about the importance of composting! This interactive, hands-on workshop will teach kids how to build their own worm bin that they can take home!

Sessions last about 15 to 20 minutes and will run throughout the weekend from 10am to 3pm during our Summer Harvest Sunflower Festival in the Kids Games and Activities area. Cost is 1 game ticket ($4) per person.

Summer Harvest Watermelon Festival

Every Weekend in August from 10am - 3pm

Did you know that watermelon was first harvested in Egypt 5,000 years ago? Or that there are 1,200 varieties of watermelon grown in 96 countries?  Or that by weight, watermelon is the most consumed melon in the United States? And that early explorers used watermelons as canteens?

Melon Tours

Saturdays & Sundays every hour, on the half, from 9:30am-2:30pm. No reservations needed.

Take a guided wagon ride around our 30 acre farm to see and learn about how summer fruits and vegetables grow! Taste some delicious fruits and vegetables during your wagon ride, then sit under a shaded tent and sample lots of fresh cut summer squash, different types of melon, and and take home a melon of your very own!

Cost is $18.00 per person (2 and under free)

SATURDAY & SUNDAY TOURS depart at 9:30am, 10:30am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm, and 2:30pm.  

NO RESERVATION REQUIRED. Please arrive 20 minutes beforehand to check in.

Most weekday tours require a reservations as times vary each day.  We will often hold walk-on tour times if crop conditions are favorable.  Walk-on tour times are generally posted on our home page and Calendar of Events a day or two in advance.

Corn Field

New! Summer Harvest Corn Picking Tours

Saturday & Sunday, every hour, on the hour, from 10am - 2pm. No reservations needed.

Summer at Tanaka Farms means acres and acres of sweet white corn! Take a wagon ride around our 30 acre farm.  Your friendly tour guide will tell you all about our farm's history and farming methods and show you what's growing.  Sample the seasonal vegetables next to where they're grown.  The last stop is the corn field where you will learn how to pick the perfect ear of corn. Each participant will pick 3 ears of corn to take home. After picking, take a brief walk to the Corn Bar set up right in the field! There you will receive a fresh roasted ear of corn to top with a variety of toppings and enjoy.

Cost is $18.00 per person (2 and under free)

Tour Group Rates

Now Taking Group Reservations

If you are planning a field trip, birthday party, or other large group to visit our farm, we offer group rates.  To qualify for a group rate, you must make a reservation in advance and bring either:

  • 10 or more paying children.  The group rate is $14 per child and $7 per adult (no basket).
  • 15 or more total people.  The group rate is $14 for all people in the party (children and adults).

Tour Reservations:

Weekdays (Mon-Fri):  Unless noted otherwise, reservations are required for ALL parties. Strawberry tours only.

Weekends (Sat & Sun):  Reservations are not needed UNLESS requesting a group rate.

Our reservations agent is available Monday through Friday 9:30am to 4:30pm at reservations@tanakafarms.com.  Please allow sufficient time to book your request.

Community Supported Agriculture Program

By subscribing to our CSA program, you will receive a weekly or bi-weekly box of responsibly grown, fresh picked produce.  You can receive a box near your home or work:

  • Pick up here at the Tanaka Farms 7 days a week - no delivery fee
  • Pick up at one of 40+ drop off sites, including most Whole Foods locations.  Sites are located from south OC up to the South Bay - $3.00 delivery fee
  • Home delivery to select cities around Irvine - $10 delivery fee
