Melon Tours:  Monday at 10am & 11:15 am - no reservation needed. 

Melon Tours:  Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at 11:15 am - no reservation needed.

The Melon Tour is a guided wagon ride around the farm.  Sample seasonal vegetables along the way. Last stop is under a tent in our melon field, where you will sample summer squash and different types of melons. Each person receives a melon to take home!  Cost is $18 per person (2 and under free)

U-Pick Vegetable Tour:  Monday through Friday at 12:30 pm - no reservation needed.

The U-Pick Vegetable tour is a FREE wagon ride around the farm to pick seasonal vegetables.  Pay only for what you pick at Produce Stand prices. Walk into the cornfield and pick your own sweet white corn! Pick your own sunflower to make sunflower seeds at home! (Other produce may include, peppers, tomatoes, and carrots, depending on crop availability.)

Summer Harvest Watermelon Festival

Every Weekend in August from 10am - 3pm

Did you know that watermelon was first harvested in Egypt 5,000 years ago? Or that there are 1,200 varieties of watermelon grown in 96 countries?  Or that by weight, watermelon is the most consumed melon in the United States? And that early explorers used watermelons as canteens?

Watermelons are the perfect summer fruit! So juicy and refreshing on a hot summer day. Come celebrate the melon here at Tanaka Farms, and enjoy a day with lots of food, drink, games, crafts, samples, face-painting, vendors, ATV rides, wagon rides and more!  Admission to the festival is FREE! Activities priced separately.

Vegan BBQ! 

Saturday, August 25 - 11am

Vegans, Vegetarians, and Veg-Curious! This one's for you! We know a lot of our customers follow a plant based diet and we wanted to show them we care! Join us on our hilltop venue for an ALL VEGAN BBQ! We are inviting some of SoCal's best vegan chefs to cook up some tasty 'cue!  Featuring Chef Lemel Durrah of Compton Vegan, Chef Raul Medina of Taqueria La Venganza, and Chef Shawn Deleo of Southern Fried Vegan!


4th Annual Farm Walk for Childhood Cancer

Saturday, September 15 - 9am-12pm

Join us for the 4th Annual Farm Walk for Childhood Cancer! This is a one-mile walk around Tanaka Farms with 10 fruit/vegetable sampling stations. These stations will be staffed by various childhood cancer organizations (2018 beneficiaries will be announced soon!). They will pass out the produce samples, provide information about the cancer fighting benefits of the produce, and provide information about their organization. There will be food and entertainment at the end of the walk.


Maxlove Project Farm to Fork 2018

Saturday, September 22 - 5pm

Join us for a Special Evening to benefit Maxlove Project's Pioneering Childhood Cancer Thrivership Programs. The Maxlove Project empowers families fighting childhood cancers and related life-threatening conditions with quality of life care, fierce foods, whole-body wellness resources, education and research. They believe that true health starts when families are empowered to be active partners in their child’s healing.


2018 Pumpkin Patch

September 22 - October 31 - 9am-6pm Daily

Halloween is right around the corner! Our annual Pumpkin Patch opens Saturday, September 22. Come early in October for the best photo opportunities, best selection of pumpkins in the field, and the least crowded patch experience!  Most of our large school groups and field trips visit between 9 and 11 on weekday mornings.  The last two weekends tend to be very heavy so come early in the day if you can.


3rd Annual Harvest Moon Celebration

Friday, September 28 - 6pm-9pm

Don't miss out! Tickets are going fast...Come join Solutions For Urban Agriculture (“SFUA”) for this once a year celebration! We will be hosting an amazing lineup of the regions favorite chefs, along with a nationally recognized speaker and an exciting live auction! It will be a memorable evening of live music and as well as a wide array of craft beer and wine, all enjoyed from an incredible hilltop venue surrounded by farm land.

All proceeds from the event will go toward eradicating hunger while providing vitally important educational programming about food, wellness and the impacts urban farming can make in our communities.


Melon Tours

Saturdays & Sundays from 9:30am-2:30pm. No reservations needed.

Take a guided wagon ride around our 30 acre farm to see and learn about how summer fruits and vegetables grow! Taste some delicious fruits and vegetables during your wagon ride, then sit under a shaded tent and sample lots of fresh cut summer squash, different types of melon, and and take home a melon of your very own!

Cost is $18.00 per person (2 and under free)

SATURDAY & SUNDAY TOURS depart at 9:30am, 10am, 10:30am, 11am, 11:30 am, 12pm, 12:30pm, 1pm, 1:30pm, 2pm and 2:30pm.  

NO RESERVATION REQUIRED. Please arrive 20 minutes beforehand to check in.

Most weekday tours require a reservations as times vary each day.  We will often hold walk-on tour times if crop conditions are favorable.  Walk-on tour times are generally posted on our home page and Calendar of Events a day or two in advance.

Schools and groups can make a reservation for this tour.  WALK-ON WEEKEND TOURS are available most weekends and run every hour on the half from 9:30am - 2:30pm, and require no reservations.  Group rates require advance reservation for both weekdays and weekends. If you are planning a field trip, birthday party, or other large group to visit our farm, we offer group rates.  To qualify for a group rate, you must make a reservation in advance and bring either:

  • 10 or more paying children.  The group rate is $14 per child and $7 per adult (no basket).
  • 15 or more total people.  The group rate is $14 for all people in the party (children and adults).

Tour Reservations:

Weekdays (Mon-Fri):  Unless noted otherwise, reservations are required for ALL parties. Strawberry tours only.

Weekends (Sat & Sun):  Reservations are not needed UNLESS requesting a group rate.

By subscribing to our CSA program, you will receive a weekly or bi-weekly box of responsibly grown, fresh picked produce.  You can receive a box near your home or work:

  • Pick up here at the Tanaka Farms 7 days a week - no delivery fee
  • Pick up at one of 40+ drop off sites, including most Whole Foods locations.  Sites are located from south OC up to the South Bay - $3.00 delivery fee
  • Home delivery to select cities around Irvine - $10 delivery fee

Mini (4-5 items vegetable only, no fruit) - $17

Small (6-7 items) - $22

Large (10-11 items) - $33

FOR YOUR SAFETY we recommend wearing comfortable shoes that you don't mind getting dirty. Please avoid wearing sandals, flip-flops, open-toed shoes, or high heels.
